Lonely, quiet walks…gentle breezes…glistening stars…feelings of tranquility…empty roads…reflections of moonlight…distant city skylines…looming black clouds…movement in the shadows…feelings of uncertainty and fear…wandering dreams…altered states of consciousness……peace…..–Evocative of night in its various moods and settings, "Nocturne" is free in form and utilizes many different melodic elements, whilst remaining relatively simple harmonically. I originally composed it for brass quintet but thought it might sound good with strings and rearranged it for my recital.
