The shadows fall hard as the message of this piece is delivered. Dark, brooding sonorities weave a veil of sorrow as we visit Golgotha and all of its power. Simple imitation and effective melodic sequencing lead us through the tableau of tears. It is only at the end that we are reminded that this suffering servant was indeed the Son of God and in his death God's will was fulfilled. A true testament of grace for churches everywhere.
