I kept the first verse in the original melody, but decided to make each of the next three verses a new melody, with each verse adding to the last one in a cumulative manner. Imagine four maids that have been wronged by the same man, and start ganging up on him, one at a time, until all four are scolding him at once. This is a perfect chance to show off some female solos. Or use with your full female chorus.
