Description: The tune is headed '47 Hy. 2d B. Dr Watts. 97. Pm New Version', and the first verse of Isaac Watts' hymn 'Now to the Lord a noble song', (Hymn 47 from Book 2 of Hymns and Spiritual Songs) is underlaid. The alternative text, Ps. 97 New Version, is 'Jehovah reigns, let all the earth'. The order of staves in The Sacred Herald is Tenor - Alto - Soprano - Bass, with both the alto and tenor parts printed in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. The Soprano and Bass staves are bracketed together and a keyboard accompaniment is indicated between these parts with small notes.
