Apparently this was an extremely popular piece in the late 19th and early 20th century - and it's still performed regularly today. Which makes it strange that virtually nothing is known about the woman who composed it.
Most of the scores in the Giant King book were printed from old and worn plates on cheap paper, hence the bad quality of some of the scans. - R.P.
