Correspondence and the documents opens with a collection of documents associated with the life and works of the Czech master, which have been sorted in nine thematic chapters. In addition to the composer's personal documents, the records which relate to his state artists' grants have exceptional research value. Two dozen written documents also show the circumstances in which Dvorak in 1891 obtained two honourable doctorates - in Music at Cambridge University and in Philosophy at the Karl Ferdinand Czech University in Prague. Dvorak also received additional significant honour - e. Order of the Iron Crown, an Honorary Distinction for Science and Art Litteris et artibus , and nomination a Lifetime Member of the House of Lords. Other significant recognitions included honorary membership in foreign science and art academies or in various choral and musical societies. The last chapter presents both contracts for composition with publishers who put out his compositions, and contracts for producing of Dvorak's works for the stage. The editors present the public with most of the documents for the first time ever. in the book they are arranged in a most organized, accessible manner possible. According to their nature they have been transcribed either diplomatically. birth registries and personal documents. or in the form of modified transcription according to modern basis of rewriting of historical texts. The edition was conceived in a way to serve foreign researchers. So the written documents in Czech language are guided by summaries and commentaries in German and English, original foreign language texts are provided with Czech translations.
