They may have been traveling to escape troubles or simply for adventure, but colorful songs resulted, and many have endured. A traditional hobo tune, The Wabash Cannonball allows students to develop the strongly connected-into-the-string fiddle style. The whole-step modulation from the key of C to the key of D will reinforce appropriate half and whole step finger patterns. Slightly more advanced than Beginning Strings, this series begins to involve more position work and a slightly more complex rhythmic figures. Rehearsal piano is often provided.
