Oorspronklik

He Will Quiet You with His Love composed by Cindy Berry. For Choral. SATB. Shawnee Press. Choral, General Use and Sacred. 16 pages. Shawnee Press #A6848. Published by Shawnee Press. HL.35009078. Cindy Berry has based He Will Quiet You with His Love on Zephaniah and composed this piece in such a fashion that it tells the condensed story of this book of the Bible. Beginning softly, we are told that He will quiet and comfort us with his love. Then we are charged to seek the Lord and do what He commands – “for the day of His judgment is near. ” Then moving into a darker mid-section describing the wrath of His judgment on those who do not know the Lord, the fierceness of that moment is demonstrated by the intensity of the accompaniment and vocal parts. Moving into a felicitous section, the saga continues as we are told that He has turned back our enemies and removed His hand of judgment. “Never again will you fear any harm. ” Returning peacefully to the original melody, now sung in first person, we know that the storm is over and that we will forever be sheltered by the love of our Lord. Magnificent.
