Composed for his boys' choir, the composer wanted to introduce them to the 12-bar blues structure and swing rhythms, but most importantly to improvisation. This song is set up so that each verse two choristers are chosen to finish a line of text. The choir in turn must echo the improvised response. The third and final line of each blues chorus simply sums up the topic of the verse. This song promotes creativity and listening skills.
