Brass in the Basement features the "basement" instruments including trombones, baritones, tubas, bass clarinets, and bari sax, in an easy, full-sounding setting. In this arrangement, the bottom of the band is out front, but the funky-rock groove allows the rest of the instruments to get into the act as well. A great way to feature those sections that don't always get a chance to shine, "Brass in the Basement" will build confidence in your young players, and be a crowd-pleaser as well. The Barnhouse Command Series includes works at grade levels 2, 2.5, and 3. This series is designed for middle school and junior high school bands, as well as high school bands of smaller instrumentation or limited experience. Command Series publications have a slightly larger instrumentation than the Rising Band Series, and are typically of larger scope, duration, and musical content.
