It was recorded by the London based group Piano 40 and was first performed at the South Bank Centre, London in 2001. The piece has since been recorded for CD and performed in Europe. The work attempts to describe the way in which people lead their lives. The first movement describes a field game. The shifting of positions during a sporting game with darting runs and a fragmented feel as moves never quite go to plan. The second movement focuses on the way the mind wanders when a person undertakes a repetitive manual job. The third movement features a night out on the town as people tap along to music in a jazz club and then get the night bus home.
